About Mussiro Trips

The journeys we build at Mussiro Trips are meant to be lived, not ticked off a list. They are for travellers who want a real connection with the places they go, and with the people they go with.
We create and run trips from Mozambique. Signature routes to the Maputo Special Reserve, Inhaca, Tofo, Vilanculos, Ilha de Moçambique and Kruger by the Limpopo. And when you would rather have your own, we design it around you, at your own pace.
The name
Mussiro means root.
Mussiro is a sought-after treasure of the northern forests. Across the north of Mozambique it is used to heal, to decorate, to care for the skin, and by young women as a symbol worn with pride. Their great-grandparents began the tradition, and every generation since has kept it alive.
We took the name because we care about the roots of Mozambique, not only its surface. And we know those roots because we live here. We know which guide reads the bird calls, which road floods in February, which border post opens on a Sunday. Nothing goes into a trip that we have not done ourselves first.
We believe travel can change you. Every route should be a delight, not only for the eyes but for the soul.
